About the Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Housekeeper to join our team at The Frick Collection. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our museum galleries, offices, and public areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain all offices, restrooms, public areas, galleries, and employee break and dining spaces.
  • Assist with set-up/tear down for special events of all kinds: staff events, small luncheons, private corporate events, and fundraising events.
  • Maintain the property surrounding the building by cleaning sidewalks, including gum and snow removal.
  • Ready and maintain museum galleries for installation of artwork and for the visiting public.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years professional cleaning experience.
  • Able to use all cleaning equipment: vacuums, mops, brooms.
  • Sensitivity to working near/around sensitive materials including gilded elements, fabric-covered walls, ornate draperies, and, most importantly, invaluable works of art.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to perform physical labor on a daily basis in all weather conditions (year-round).
  • Able to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and regularly lift and/or move 40 lbs. with proper tools to care for and clean floors and other surfaces that are low to the ground.
  • Able to climb ladders and/or use lifts to clean walls and ceilings.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of $49,857.60 per year, paid holidays, sick and vacation time, family leave, health, dental, and vision insurance, short and long-term disability and life insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs.

The base annual salary for this position is estimated at $52,492.32 ($26.37/hour) for evening and overnight shifts.
