Role Summary

As a pharmacist within our Long Term Care Pharmacy, you will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, playing a crucial role in achieving pharmacy management's objectives. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Accurate processing of medication orders
  • Ensuring the security and compliance of pharmacy operations
  • Adhering to delivery timelines
  • Verifying the accuracy of orders processed by pharmacy technicians
  • Reviewing and confirming the completeness of medication labels and orders
  • Ensuring the accuracy of drug packaging and labeling
  • Preparing sterile IV medications as required
  • Maintaining inventory for controlled substances
  • Understanding DEA regulations and state laws regarding controlled substances
  • Providing coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Complying with all relevant state and federal regulations, including HIPAA
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must be a licensed pharmacist in Virginia, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of service. Preferred qualifications include:
  • Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy
  • IV Certification or relevant experience
  • Immunization certification or willingness to obtain

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy is required.
