Key Responsibilities for Practical Nursing Specialist:

  • Oversee the care and services delivered by Certified Nursing Assistants and other team members responsible for resident care.
  • Administer nursing care to residents, ensuring that all individuals receive the necessary attention.
  • Implement safe and precise medication-related interventions for residents.
  • Evaluate residents' health status and promptly inform physicians of any changes, executing new orders as required.
  • Formulate a care plan based on assessments and implement nursing interventions accordingly.
  • Select and apply suitable nursing actions to stabilize residents' conditions and prevent complications.
  • Contribute to residents' assessments and the formulation of care plans.

Qualifications and Experience for Practical Nursing Specialist:

  • Possess a solid understanding of fundamental nursing practices with a focus on geriatric care.
  • Preferred experience of two years in a long-term care environment.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must hold a valid state license to practice as a Practical Nurse.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Additional certifications in nursing specialties are advantageous.
