Medical Billing Specialist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team at McLaren Health Care. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of patient billing and reimbursement.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Collect and compile patient data for billing purposes
* Verify demographic information for accuracy
* Utilize ICD/CDM/CPT coding system to assign diagnostic codes
* Ensure proper notations are made on each account
* Complete patient registration process

**Requirements:**

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Billing & Coding Specialist (CBCS)
* 1 year previous clerical experience, including data entry and telephone customer service
* Experience with computer programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Data Entry Skills

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Associate Degree
* 1-2 years' experience as a medical coder in a healthcare setting
* Previous experience working in a laboratory setting
* Knowledge of health insurances and regulations
