Quality Assurance LeaderPosition Overview

The Quality Assurance Leader is tasked with ensuring the adherence to all quality benchmarks associated with food safety within the organization during the designated shift. This role involves providing direction to the quality team and guaranteeing that all responsibilities are fulfilled and documented effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute training initiatives for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety protocols.
  • Oversee and enforce all food safety and quality regulations and procedures.
  • Manage the site’s Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan and supervise its execution.
  • Offer support and training to Quality Assurance Supervisors to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with the production team to address quality challenges and fulfill customer requirements.
  • Conduct assessments and validations of food safety systems.
  • Administer microbiological programs and tackle sanitation and food safety issues.
  • Oversee the Pest Control Program and verify its efficiency.
  • Coordinate product evaluations and produce customer Certificates of Analysis (COA) based on established specifications.
  • Investigate customer feedback and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Ensure adherence to GMP, Food Safety, and Plant Safety standards.
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by Management.
Qualifications

The preferred candidate should possess a College Diploma in Science along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Food Quality manufacturing. Essential attributes include strong leadership capabilities, self-drive, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Excellent communication skills and familiarity with the SQF system are necessary. Experience in a USDA Plant environment is advantageous.

Physical Requirements
  • Capability to lift and transport packaging weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to perform tasks in diverse working conditions.
  • Physically capable of managing exposure to cleaning agents.
  • Must wear designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to sanitation protocols.
  • Ability to stand or walk for a minimum of 8 hours.
Work Environment

The Quality Assurance Leader will operate in both office and production settings, encountering varying temperatures and elevated noise levels from machinery. The role also involves exposure to loud sounds and alarms from equipment.
