Process Engineer, Cell Manufacturing Specialist

Gotion, a leading power battery technology company, is seeking a Process Engineer to play a vital role in the scaling and optimization of our battery cell manufacturing processes.

As a Process Engineer, you will apply your knowledge of chemical engineering, materials science, and manufacturing technologies to develop efficient, scalable, and reliable processes for the production of advanced battery cells.

Your responsibilities will include designing process workflows, troubleshooting production challenges, and implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance yield, quality, and efficiency.

Working closely with equipment engineers, quality teams, and manufacturing personnel, you will ensure that our battery cell products transition smoothly from R&D prototypes to high-volume production.

This role demands a detail-oriented engineer with a passion for innovation and a commitment to manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize manufacturing processes for the production of battery cells, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Conduct process simulations and analyses to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
  • Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure manufacturability of new battery cell designs, providing feedback and guidance on design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives for manufacturing issues, working closely with the quality assurance team to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with equipment engineers to select, customize, and commission manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal integration with process workflows.
  • Develop detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials, to support manufacturing personnel.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams focused on continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and cost reduction initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing process development role, preferably in the battery or related high-tech industries.
  • Strong technical skills in process design, simulation, and optimization, with experience in statistical process control (SPC) and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
