Position Overview:
At Trinity Health, the Acute Care Unit is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for adult patients facing a range of medical conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, issues related to the pulmonary, gastrointestinal, renal, endocrine, circulatory, and neurological systems, as well as infectious diseases and autoimmune disorders.
The Nurse Residency Program at Trinity Health is tailored for Registered Nurses with less than one year of experience, aiming to enhance the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for transitioning from novice to proficient nursing practice.
- Successfully transition to a competent nursing practitioner.
- Develop effective decision-making abilities.
- Provide clinical leadership in patient care.
- Integrate evidence-based research into clinical practice.
- Graduation from an accredited College/University or less than 12 months of RN experience.
- Possession of a valid RN license prior to the commencement of the program.
The residency program combines computer-based and classroom learning with advanced simulation training. It emphasizes practice-based learning through simulations, quality and safety in patient-centered care, and the implementation of evidence-based projects alongside professional development and leadership training.
