Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled VIP Upholstery Fabricator to join our team at a premier provider of VIP/VVIP interior completions for large aircraft. The successful candidate will be responsible for upholstering custom interior items and assembling seating units for aircraft installation or modification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut and sew leather and/or fabric for recovering parts such as interior panels and seats, while adhering to customer, engineering, and interior design specifications and drawings.
- Build seat shrouds, cut cushions, apply upholstery to seats, tables, and other equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.
- Sew, fabricate, and install covers for all styles of panels in the aircraft interior, meeting safety, quality, and productivity standards and goals.
- Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements.
- Ensure the work area is kept to the highest standards of safety, compliant at all times, enforcing regulations and practices to avoid accidents.
- Perform the proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts and panels appropriately stored.
- Perform documentation procedures and signoffs in accordance with Repair Station Quality Manual and respective task requirements.
- Ensure that tools and equipment are correctly used and handled for both safety and to reduce breakages, wear and tear.
- Strive for continuous process improvements and increasing efficiencies in execution and delivery with safety as a priority.
- Maintain close and frequent communication with the Lead Technician or Supervisor, notifying him/her of progress and any roadblocks or threats to task accomplishment.
- Deal with customers in a cordial, respectful and professional manner.
- Ensure the highest quality service, safety standards and performance, with the objective of exceeding customer satisfaction in the re-delivery of airworthy, reliable and clean aircraft.
- Take part in any required training as determined by the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Holds a current driver's license.
- At least one year of experience in custom V/VVIP upholstery.
- Minimum of 6 years in upholstery experience as a whole.
- Proficient in oral and written English.
- Must report for assignment with personal set of standard trade-specific tools.
- Over 4 years of experience in V/VVIP custom aircraft upholstery.
