Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our Legal Department. This role will be responsible for providing strategic advisory services, oversight, and guidance on regulatory requirements and compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a regulatory subject matter expert with focus on consumer lending laws and state statutes, advising internal partners on regulatory requirements and expectations, and managing related legal and regulatory risk.
  • Monitors relevant legislative, regulatory, and supervisory developments, analyzing their impact and advising internal stakeholders accordingly.
  • Engages with regulators regarding key regulatory areas of focus, guides the activities of the regulatory exam management team as needed, and creates/revises Company documents in accordance with changes in regulatory or statutory provisions.
  • Collaborates with other members of the legal team and functional/business groups, responds to questions from and provides advice to other groups/employees on regulatory policies and procedures, and builds key relationships across the company.
  • Provides effective challenge on processes, regulatory changes, controls, and deficiency remediation, participates in various legal and risk-related matters, reviews Company marketing/training/communication to employees/customers, and leads the licensing team responsible for applying for, renewing, and maintaining all Company licenses.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Licensed lawyer with at least 7 years of experience in banking/regulatory/related matters, preferably in a major law firm/in-house position.
  • Graduate of an accredited law school with a strong academic record, highest ethical standards, and integrity.
  • Strong leadership skills, risk-focused service-oriented mindset, excellent writing/communication skills, excellent judgment, ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of internal clients, and strong teamwork/collaboration skills.
  • Effective time-management skills, physical demands for this position frequently include remaining in a stationary position, moving about freely inside/outside the office, and operating mechanical controls like a keyboard.
  • Marketing/social media/training/communications methods/process/administration knowledge and corporate documentation/licensure experience are preferred.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications, plus bonuses and benefits.
