Job Title: Cardiology Technician

Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Technician to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a Cardiology Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Cardiology department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform non-invasive procedures, including electrocardiograms (ECGs), holter monitors, and stress tests, according to division standards.
  • Provide data to cardiologists for interpretation of procedures.
  • Assess patients for appropriate indications and contraindications of stress testing.
  • Independently perform and supervise stress testing under the direct supervision of a physician.
  • Monitor and record vital signs.
  • Terminate exercise stress testing following department protocols.
  • Interpret exercise stress testing and obtain immediate physician review when indicated.
  • Complete exercise stress testing and holter monitor flow sheets.
  • Apply holter monitors, demonstrating proper electrode application and analysis of underlying arrhythmias.
  • Provide one-on-one instruction to new employees and students as directed by the Supervisor or Manager of Cardiology.
  • Initiate CPR and assist physicians during medical emergencies.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Completion of one to two (1-2) years of 12-lead EKG, arrhythmia courses with stress training and/or completion of a certificate or diploma program in CVT and/or completion of a clinical rotation in non-invasive cardiology.
  • A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year as a Non-Invasive Technician.
  • CCT certification through CCI.
Working Conditions:

This position involves exposure to biohazardous waste, blood-borne pathogens, extreme noise levels, high-pressure steam/gas, and radioactive agents.
