Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor Embryology to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the embryology and andrology labs, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy in our testing and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage the daily activities of the embryology and andrology labs, including quality control and quality assurance.
- Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure the accurate and timely processing of patient specimens.
- Perform andrology procedures such as sperm cryopreservation and thawing, sperm vitality testing, retrograde sperm preparation.
- Perform daily assays for serum hormone determinations and semen testing.
- Complete patient reports and enter data into electronic medical records.
- Maintain log of patient results and ensure correct patient accessioning.
- Document all corrective actions when test systems deviate from the lab's established performance specifications.
- Participate in laboratory coverage on a weekend and holiday rotation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Chemical, Physical or Biological Science.
- NYS Department of Education Clinical Licensed Technologist (CLT) certification required within 3 years of being employed.
- General knowledge of operation of web-based QC platforms, electronic medical records, and document control platforms.
- Rigorous QA and QC regarding handling of specimens and extreme care and caution in labeling and handling specimens.
