Position Objective
The Pharmacy Technician collaborates closely with the Pharmacy Manager and patients to guarantee the highest standard of care through precise medication dispensing. This role encompasses a variety of pharmacy responsibilities, making each day both dynamic and fulfilling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and process new and refill prescription orders, including suitable substitutions, in accordance with formulary guidelines.
- Utilize pharmacy software systems to accurately label and dispense medications to patients.
- Process insurance claims efficiently.
- Manage point-of-sale transactions.
- Maintain awareness and management of inventory.
- Navigate prior authorization processes effectively.
- Resolve customer service inquiries successfully.
- Provide information to patients regarding medications and practice-related queries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Professional Certification (Reimbursement available):
- Illinois Pharmacy Technician License required within 30 days of hire, if not already obtained.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification required within 150 days of hire, if not already obtained.
Additional Information
- Willingness to travel to various locations as necessary.
- Work schedule includes three 12-hour shifts per week from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with one Saturday per month from 6:45 AM to 12:30 PM.
