Essential Qualifications
Basic understanding of cleaning protocols, ability to adhere to instructions, and capability to perform moderate to strenuous physical tasks; or an equivalent mix of training and experience. Certain positions may require specialized certifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Floor Maintenance**: Regular sweeping, mopping, and periodic refinishing of floors.
2. **Restroom Sanitation**: Daily cleaning and disinfecting of restroom facilities, ensuring all supplies are replenished.
3. **Dusting and Spot Cleaning**: Daily upkeep of furniture and fixtures, including desks, chairs, and windows.
4. **Carpet Care**: Vacuuming and addressing specific stains with appropriate cleaning agents.
5. **Waste Management**: Removal of trash and debris from designated areas, ensuring cleanliness and order.
6. **Chemical Handling**: Proper use and storage of cleaning agents, adhering to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
7. **Security Duties**: Responsible for securing assigned areas, including locking and unlocking facilities as scheduled.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Physical capability to lift moderately heavy items regularly.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with university community members.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
- Prior cleaning experience in a commercial or institutional environment.
- Experience with eco-friendly cleaning practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in team settings.
Permanent Full-Time
Work Schedule
2nd SHIFT: 3:30 pm - 12:00 am, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend work for events.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment and supplies, and may involve climbing ladders.
Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
