Position Overview:

Legrand is thrilled to present an opportunity for a Copper Engineering Trainee to join our Data Center Power & Control Division Team.

The Engineering Trainee will play a crucial role in supporting the Copper Engineering team with the development, design, and evaluation of both new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement testing setups, create prototype components, and assess product design vulnerabilities.

2. Conduct testing on cables, components, and copper channels in accordance with established standards.

3. Compile and interpret test data into structured report formats.

4. Collaborate with team members to enhance the precision and efficiency of testing procedures and setups.

5. Assist engineering efforts in new product designs, simulations, and validations.

Qualifications:
Required Skills

Education:
Completion of some college coursework is necessary.

Experience:
No prior experience is required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a BSME or BSEE program.

A creative approach to problem-solving grounded in solid theoretical engineering principles.

Willingness to provide engineering support for current product lines while evaluating new product designs, including conducting laboratory testing.

Proficiency in SolidWorks, particularly in developing assemblies using component part models, is preferred.

Competence in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Prepare comprehensive written and verbal reports.

Conduct engineering studies and investigations.

Familiarity with tools such as network analyzers, handheld cable analyzers, and multimeters is a plus but not mandatory.

Availability for full-time work is required.
