Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting in the repair and overhaul of equipment, including refrigeration, heating, and ventilation systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing service to customers by repairing and overhauling equipment in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Performing general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors.
  • Providing preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operating deficiencies.
  • Testing malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
  • Maintaining legible corporate and personal records of work history.
  • Providing department support by processing job tickets and work orders promptly.
  • Performing other related duties and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • EPA certification.
  • Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school is a plus.
  • Minimum 3+ years of commercial refrigeration experience required.
  • Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with single systems and rack systems, as well as previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes, is very helpful.
  • A good driving record and ability to work independently are essential.
  • Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. with no assistance and sit/stand for several hours at a time.
