Job Title: CDL Driver

Schmidt Construction, part of the Edw. C. Levy Group of Companies, is seeking a skilled CDL Driver to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced CDL Driver to operate our vehicles safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading, transporting, and applying construction materials.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Check and maintain fluid levels
  • Maneuver vehicle to properly load, transport, and apply material
  • Observe loading operation to ensure correct material, proper weight, and proper distribution of material
  • Get vehicle weighed and process appropriate paperwork
  • Write up or communicate repair requests to mechanics
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
  • Maintain records and logs
  • Properly handle breakdowns and accidents
  • Provide basic maintenance of vehicle
  • Assist with other given tasks
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license with excellent driving record
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Valid CDL with Tanker & HazMat endorsements, or ability to obtain one
  • Physical Requirements: Lifting up to 50 pounds, Using hands and feet to move levers and depress pedals, Sitting for extended period of time, Climbing on and into vehicle, Working outside for extended periods of time
