Key Responsibilities- Operate a commercial vehicle to transport goods and materials to customers on scheduled routes
- Check and maintain the driver maintenance of the vehicle assigned, reporting any deficiencies to the Manager
- Drive a heavy truck for transporting or delivering laundry material in large quantities to customers
- Place laundry materials, loaded in mobile carts in the vehicle so as to form a compact load which will not shift or be damaged in transit and so that articles may be unloaded in desired orders
- Secure each load with straps or other fastenings to hold in place
- Driver will sign for all items received and obtain signatures for items delivered, assume responsibility for goods in transit
- Prepare and maintain shipping records
- Communicate effectively with employees, co-workers and customers, treating all in a professional and courteous manner
- Communicate concerns and behaviors of consumers with the supervisor and also perform all other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor
- Help provide a safe working environment for you, customers and fellow employees
- High School / GED or better
- CDL Driver's License
- Minimum of two years of CDL truck driving experience while maintaining a safe driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend and stoop at frequent intervals, push and pull carts weighing up to 600 pounds
- A pre-employment drug screen, background and motor-vehicle report is required for this position
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to be able to lift, bend, and stoop at frequent intervals. The incumbent must also be able to push and pull carts weighing up to 600 pounds.
