We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Systems Engineer to join our team at Bastion Technologies. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and documenting electrical interface systems engineering products, including electrical interface and grounding requirements and verifications, ground trees, electrical interface function lists, and circuit data sheets.
Responsibilities:- Develop and document electrical interface systems engineering products, including electrical interface and grounding requirements and verifications, ground trees, electrical interface function lists, and circuit data sheets.
- Provide survey of commercial optical/radio (RF) communications reliability assessment.
- Generate a report of commercial reliability numbers for satellite communications products, including RF radios, optical terminals, and satellite buses from commercial volume vendors.
- Review customer reliability assessment to determine key drivers of reliability.
- Generate a prioritized list of the most susceptible components within design for the Optical Terminal and Amplifier Controller (OTAC), Optical Head Assembly (OHA), and Acacia Modem.
- Create reliability block diagram for a single-string Optical Communications Terminal (OCT) using available reliability information from Purchaser.
- Provide an updated design for reliability architecture trade with a single KOPA power supply module.
- Determine reliability probability of success (P_s) of Gen 0 Optical Communications Terminal Electronics (OCTE) and KOPA.
- Determine reliability P_s of Gen 1+ OCTE and KOPA.
- Using the input of the basis of materials (BOM), radiation data, failure modes, effects, and criticality analysis (FMECA), and thermal analysis from Purchaser, Supplier will provide the following for Purchaser's Gen 1+ OCTE and KOPA:
- Maturation of radiation data from parts list.
- Maturation/completion of FMECA on electronics box.
- Reliability block diagram predicting P_s over Purchaser-directed years and environmental conditions assuming various duty cycle/availability assumptions.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related technical field.
- 15+ years of recent and related experience.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.
- Demonstrated Subject Matter Expert (SME) at the group level or higher in Space Vehicle Electrical and Power Systems Engineering.
- Previous experience in Spacecraft Systems Integration and.
This position is located onsite at Bastion Technologies.
This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
This position may require some travel.
Background Investigations:All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require a clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process.
Drug and Alcohol Screening:All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.
