Position Overview:

The Operating Room Technician plays a crucial role as a member of the surgical team, ensuring that all aspects of the surgical procedure are conducted safely and effectively.

This role operates under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and reports directly to the management of Surgical Services. The Technician is expected to contribute to system-wide initiatives and uphold best practices in surgical operations. Furthermore, this individual will actively engage in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined.

Compensation Details:
Pay Range: $45.71/hour (Certified, based on experience) or $40.93/hour (Uncertified, based on experience)

Eligibility for Benefits:

Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday, 6:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. On-call duties are required with a 30-minute response time.

As a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in the Operating Room, you will bring your physical, mental, and emotional strengths to your work.

Our Operating Room features 14 surgical suites, including a dedicated cystoscopy room. We handle a wide range of surgical cases, excluding open-heart surgeries and transplants. Our facility is equipped with DaVinci robotics and conducts deep brain stimulation surgeries.

Your Responsibilities:

As a CST, your duties will include:
1. Assisting in the nursing care and preparation of surgical patients.
2. Assembling, organizing, and completing case carts according to physician preference lists.
3. Providing necessary instrumentation, sutures, and supplies as requested while maintaining a sterile environment.
4. Assisting the surgeon by passing instruments during procedures.
5. Counting sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using established techniques and policies.
6. Handling specimens, implants, dressings, and contaminated materials in accordance with established protocols.
7. Ensuring timely turnover of surgical rooms, including cleanup and restocking of supplies and equipment.
8. Caring for instruments and equipment.

Your Qualifications:

We prioritize hiring individuals over resumes, but we also expect excellence. Therefore, the following qualifications are required:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
3. Current NCCT Surgical Technologist certification (TS-C) or NBSTSA certification.
4. Registration as a Surgical Technologist in the state of practice is required.
5. Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
