Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Medical Intake Specialist to support our Utilization Review Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting intake information, creating electronic patient files, and sorting and mailing certification letters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer utilization review lines and direct calls to the appropriate person, retrieve voicemail, and transfer messages to the assigned nurse.
  • Collect demographic information to create patient files.
  • Print, mail, fax, and copy correspondence as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the URA Team Leader.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Courses in computers, medical terminology, data entry, word processing, and secretarial training desired.

Skills: Knowledge of computers, data entry in databases, word processing, and multiple line telephone systems. Bi-lingual helpful but not required.

Experience: At least one year of professional office experience, with experience in a healthcare environment required.

Personal Qualifications: Friendly telephone personality, ability to proof written material accurately, accurate data entry ability, and ability to organize tasks and prioritize as directed by the URA Team Leader.
