Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Physics Planner II to join our team at Energy Northwest. As a key member of our Radiological Planning Group, you will provide technical support in radiological planning, working independently and with minimal supervision to perform research, investigations, analyses, evaluations, and reviews of radiation protection activities, programs, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform work planning, work management activities, and radiological work planning for the Radiation Protection Department, including dose estimating, creating dose reduction strategies, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze and evaluate radiation protection performance data and station exposure data to determine radiation protection program effectiveness, leading monthly dose budget meetings, planning, and reviewing station department's monthly dose goals.
  • Perform reviews and evaluations of department activities, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations, standards, and recommendations, identifying, recommending, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide technical health physics support to address operational and licensing tasks in areas such as radiation exposure monitoring, radiological control, and dose reduction.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a science-related field and a minimum of five years of experience in radiation protection, or an associate's degree in Health Physics and a minimum of seven years of experience, or a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of nine years of experience.
  • At least one year of experience in radiation protection work at a nuclear facility dealing with radiological problems similar to those encountered in commercial nuclear power plants.
  • The ability to maintain rad worker qualifications.
