Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Production Technician to join our team at our Hydrogen & Nitrogen Production Facility in Butte, MT. This is a day shift position with on-call responsibility on a 24/7 basis as required for plant reliability, reporting to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn and operate all aspects of the Hydrogen production process, including Steam Methane Reformer unit operation and PSA Process, with a focus on troubleshooting deviations that may impact plant reliability or efficiency.
  • Operate the computer control system for the plant, ensuring seamless process performance.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, equipment manuals, and company procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Monitor process performance and proactively make adjustments to remedy deviations and align with specified norms.
  • Operate units to supply products at the appropriate quantities and qualities, safely and economically, while complying with environmental regulations and daily customer requirements.
  • Perform inspections of equipment and daily preventative maintenance tasks as required.
  • Safely troubleshoot, maintain, and assist in the repair of mechanical systems, including valves, piping, pumps, fans, motors, etc.
  • Perform lockout tagout, correctly and safely permit maintenance work, and oversee contractors as necessary.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; 2 or more years of Production Operations experience is preferred.
  • Strong interest in and experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of computers and typical computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft applications).
  • Proficiency with a variety of hand tools, meters, instrument calibration equipment, etc.
  • Working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems, and motors.
  • Ability to climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 lbs, and work at heights.
