Fleet Program Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

The Fleet Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire fleet vehicle program at Tractor Supply Company, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations, and reducing program expenses. This role will work closely with field teams, internal teams, and external partners to maintain vehicles, ensure driver safety, and optimize fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of 500+ vehicle fleet, including vehicle ordering, delivery, maintenance, and recall management.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and adherence to compliance regulations such as FMCSA, DOT, IFTA, and OSHA.
  • Maintain and execute a Safety Program that includes benchmarks for compliance with company programs and DOT requirements.
  • Partner with internal Procurement Team to negotiate contracts with external partners to reduce fleet program expenses.
  • Create, deliver, and analyze metric reports related to operational costs, preventative maintenance, and scheduling.
  • Manage all third-party relationships related to the fleet.
  • Review, approve, and submit for payment lease and service billings on a monthly basis.
  • Manage daily operational needs of drivers, including training, maintenance requests, tolls, and incident reporting.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on the TSC fleet, providing insights and recommendations for enhancing operations.
  • Manage assigned vehicle drivers, including onboarding and offboarding Team Members as needed.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual budget goals.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), processes, and systems related to the fleet.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Fleet Management and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulation compliance experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or related field preferred. High School diploma required.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to fleet management (DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration).
  • Accident preventability decisions and accountability experience.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneNote.
  • General automotive knowledge.
  • Familiarity with fleet management software and technology.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain strong business relationships and credibility with all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Advanced analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, extended hours, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
