The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fire protection engineering principles, code requirements, and industry best practices. A proven track record in designing fire protection systems and a Professional Engineering (PE) license are required.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and engineering of fire protection systems, including fire detection, suppression, and alarm systems, tailored to the unique needs of data centers.
- Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for fire protection systems.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA, ICC, and local building codes.
- Manage and oversee fire protection engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and construction teams to integrate fire protection systems seamlessly into overall data center designs.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure proper installation and operation of fire protection systems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
- Stay current with advancements in fire protection technology and industry trends.
- Conduct risk assessments and fire safety evaluations for data center facilities.
- Prepare and review technical reports, design documentation, and regulatory submissions.
- Valid Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Minimum of 10 years of design experience in fire protection system design.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NFPA, ICC).
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Proven project management experience, with the ability to lead projects and teams effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in fire protection engineering software and tools.
