Position Summary

We are in search of a skilled Senior Software Engineer to act as a pivotal contributor within our organization. This role is essential in delivering robust and dependable services to our clientele. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Engineering, this position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities across DataOps, DevOps, SRE, and Backend engineering. You will be expected to exhibit profound expertise and technical leadership across various technology sectors, with the freedom to develop your areas of specialization to enhance team effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate collaboration among engineers, executives, and other stakeholders to enhance our internal developer and data platforms.
  • Conduct design discussions and code evaluations with colleagues to uplift the engineering standards across the organization.
  • Collaborate with engineers to innovate, refine, and enhance existing systems, while also identifying new avenues to leverage your expertise in addressing critical challenges.
  • Develop and expand technical, architectural, and design documentation for engineers to adhere to as best practices in system and service development.
  • Mentor and nurture team members while acquiring new skills and insights in the role.
  • Engage in hands-on solution development and validation as required.
  • Establish and maintain data pipeline infrastructure between data warehouses and BI tools utilizing Terraform.
  • Oversee Kafka infrastructure and promote best practices among teams utilizing Kafka, focusing on observability.
  • Apply your knowledge in database architecture, particularly with technologies such as MySQL, DocumentDB, and DynamoDB.
  • Implement SRE principles on key components of the backend platform.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize our deployment pipelines, configuration management, and orchestration tools for efficient operations and rapid iterations.
  • Initiate strategic modifications to our CI platform to empower teams in managing their workflows while minimizing discrepancies across teams.
  • Modernize SQL database migrations within our core legacy systems.
  • Execute prioritized R&D initiatives to enhance developer productivity and address legacy technical debt.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in constructing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Argo.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS system operations and design.
  • A customer-focused approach regarding internal developer platforms.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly with Terraform and CloudFormation or CDK.
  • Experience in change management, including a critical assessment of the necessity for platform and tool migrations.
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures, such as AWS Lambda.
  • Expertise in secure and efficient Docker image creation and deployment to Kubernetes and Docker Compose.
  • Knowledge of Helm and/or Kustomize.
  • Experience in test and QA automation as part of deployment pipelines.
  • Skills in static code analysis, integration, and functional testing.
  • Strong attention to security best practices, including zero trust, RBAC, and effective authentication/authorization.
  • A solid SRE mindset, with experience in monitoring and alerting best practices; familiarity with Grafana and Datadog is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in data modeling and experience with data migration.
  • Expertise in both SQL and NoSQL databases, especially MySQL (experience with DocumentDB and DynamoDB is a plus).
  • Fluency in one or more programming languages within Lark's core stack: Golang or TypeScript (NodeJS).
  • Previous exposure to HIPAA/HITRUST/SOC 2 compliance and security is highly regarded.

Lark Health operates as a remote organization, with all employees required to reside within the United States. The specific compensation offered to candidates will depend on various factors, including their location, job level, and verified job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Alongside a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may also qualify for additional compensation, such as participation in a bonus program and stock awards, where applicable.
