Job Summary

At YouTube, we're looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer, Mobile to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying software solutions for our mobile applications.

Responsibilities
  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile, you will work on a specific project critical to YouTube's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. With your technical expertise, you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced software engineer with a strong background in iOS application development. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, with at least 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms. Additionally, the candidate should have 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Programming experience in Objective-C or Swift is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field, with at least 3 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, and/or debugging. Experience developing accessible technologies is also a plus.

What We Offer

At YouTube, we offer a competitive salary range of $161,000-$239,000, bonus, equity, and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
