Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role involves the installation, maintenance, and engineering support for Fuji Surface Mount Technology (SMT) automation systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct field installations of Fuji SMT automation equipment across North America.
  • Provide troubleshooting, repair, training, and process support for Fuji SMT automation systems.
  • Implement custom modifications and retrofits for Fuji SMT equipment.
  • Manage customer relationships effectively.
  • Deliver engineering-level technical support via phone.
  • Collect engineering-level data and prepare both written and oral reports.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechatronic diagrams.
  • Work collaboratively in team settings or independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit strong verbal communication skills with customers and Fuji technical departments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Windows and software installation.
  • Be prepared to travel and execute job assignments on short notice.
  • Show strong aptitude for current computing applications and networking processes.
  • Willingness to travel locally and throughout the U.S. for job assignments on short notice.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is preferred. Experience with Fuji SMT is advantageous. A strong background in electrical and mechanical diagnostics and repairs is essential, along with proficiency in modern PC applications and networking concepts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The position requires daily activities such as standing, walking, and using hand and automated tools. Employees must be able to climb, balance, reach for controls, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and stand for extended periods. The ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 lbs is necessary. Moderate noise levels are expected.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

This role requires the individual to consistently represent Fuji America Corporation in a professional manner. Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills are crucial. Familiarity with general office procedures and computer literacy is essential. The employee must be a collaborative team player who promotes harmony and cooperation within the organization and with clients. Strong analytical skills are required, along with flexibility and availability for frequent travel on short notice, with an expectation of approximately 75% travel in this position.
