About the Role

As a Senior Sterile Processing Technician at Providence Saint John's Health Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. Under the general supervision of the Ambulatory Surgery Director, you will conduct advanced reprocessing and sterilization services within the OR, SPD, and ASC, and interact directly with surgery staff and physicians to ensure the effective sterilization and equipment handling tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced reprocessing and sterilization services within the OR, SPD, and ASC
  • Interact directly with surgery staff and physicians to ensure effective sterilization and equipment handling tasks
  • Act as a resource and guide for correct and effective sterilization technique
  • Turn over room between cases and facilitate transport of patients for discharge as needed
Requirements
  • Education to meet certification, license, or registration requirement
  • National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterilization Association or National Certified Sterilization and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterilization and Distribution or National Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterilization Association
  • 4 years Instrumentation/sterilization experience in an acute hospital
