Sterile Processing Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Manager to join our team at Providence Saint Johns Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. This is a full-time position.

About the Role:

The Sterile Processing Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling all activities related to equipment/instrument decontamination, processing, sterilization, and quality control with a focus on management of regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the sterile processing and high-level disinfection practices across the ministry, including the main sterile processing department, ambulatory sterile processing department, GI lab/MPU, cardiology, radiology, Women's Health, emergency department, and inpatient units.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of sterile processing activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of sterile processing staff, providing feedback and coaching to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying knowledge to improve sterile processing operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree achieved within three years of hire.
  • Three years sterile processing experience.
  • Two years management or supervisory experience.
  • National Certified Ambulatory Surgery Sterile Processing Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, or equivalent certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of accredited sterile processing or surgical technology program.
