Job Title:

Asbestos Abatement Lead / Supervisor

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asbestos Abatement Lead to oversee and coordinate asbestos removal projects in compliance with regulatory standards and company protocols.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental remediation, asbestos abatement techniques, and project management. They will be responsible for developing comprehensive project plans, overseeing projects at multiple sites, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop comprehensive project plans for asbestos abatement projects, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
  2. Oversee projects at multiple sites with little to no direct supervision, ensuring that projects are executed within scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  3. Develop effective asbestos abatement strategies tailored to each project, considering factors such as the type and condition of ACMs, site conditions, and environmental concerns.
  4. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and state/local asbestos regulations.
  5. Lead and supervise a team of asbestos abatement technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  6. Maintain detailed project documentation, including asbestos surveys, work plans, daily progress reports, and waste manifests.
  7. Directs field personnel, equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delay and keep project progress on track.
  8. Complete required field documentation daily and accurately.
  9. Ability to understand and recognize contract requirements; and identify potential changed conditions or out of scope items.
  10. Assist in preparation of cost estimates with appropriate back-up.
  11. Procures materials and negotiates with vendors/subcontractors.
  12. Attends site walks, solicits subcontractor quotes, prepares estimates, and assist in submitting proposals.
  13. Computer skills including Microsoft office suite.
  14. Ability to recognize and initiate efficiency improvements.
  15. Works directly with senior management to establish long and short-term goals.
  16. Assist in projecting cost to complete and preparation of change order documentation when needed.
Requirements:
  1. 5+ years of experience leading environmental cleanup, soil remediation, demo/decon, or habitat restoration projects.
  2. Demonstrated experience with multi-disciplinary staff executing construction projects.
  3. Asbestos Certified Abatement Training Required / Certification as an Asbestos Supervisor in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  4. Thorough understanding of asbestos abatement techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and currently 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher.
  2. USACE/Department of Defense (DoD) contract experience.
  3. USACE QC Training.
  4. OSHA 30 hour Training.
