Pediatric Clinic Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Clinic LPN to join our team at Singing River Health System. As a Pediatric Clinic LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our pediatric patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care to pediatric patients under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced registered nurse, or licensed physician.
- Record vital signs, discuss chief health concerns, perform testing, and administer injections as needed.
- Assist with procedures and documentation, including completing front office duties such as greeting and registering patients, requesting and accepting payment for services, and answering phones and scheduling appointments.
- Complete referrals and pre-certifications in a timely and efficient manner.
- Order medical supplies, office supplies, and medications, and stock exam and supply rooms.
- Graduate of an accredited school of licensed practical nursing.
- Current Mississippi practical nurse license.
- Required to complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
- Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days).
- A minimum of six (6) months outpatient clinic experience required, with experience within the past five (5) years, or evidence of successful refresher program.
The work is moderately active, involving sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. The work involves exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
The work involves using many physical motions in performing daily work activities, subject to exposure of body fluids, sputum, and tissues, which may carry the hazard of infectious disease. The work involves using repetitive motions, substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as a computer keyboard.
The work requires close visual and acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e., shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision.
The work requires the ability to be active for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue and to work schedules assigned with the understanding that changes may be instituted according to the needs of the hospital for off days, shifts, or weekends.
Mental Demands:The work requires keen mental faculties/assessment and decision-making abilities. The work requires superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. The work requires strong written and verbal communication skills. The work requires emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels. The work requires the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
The work requires attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations. The work requires the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations.
