Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Banfield Pet Hospital. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering top-notch medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures, exams, and treatments.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to pet owners, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring timely and efficient communication with clients and veterinary staff.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on the latest veterinary techniques and best practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
Requirements
  • Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • One year of related experience in a veterinary setting, with customer service skills preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods, with a willingness to work in a dynamic and sometimes stressful environment.
