Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Services: Provide direct program services to clients, including conducting needs assessments and developing individualized plans.

  • Compliance and Integrity: Ensure employee compliance and program integrity, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Peer Counselor and Breast Pump Programs: Supervise or designate a supervisor for these programs, ensuring effective service delivery.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure staff adheres to agency policies and procedures, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Data Management: Manage electronic systems used by WIC, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • IDHS Liaison: Serve as the liaison with IDHS staff for I-WIC systems, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor problems with electronic systems and resolve issues, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
  • Reporting: Complete and submit required reports, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Equipment Inventory: Develop and maintain an equipment inventory system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Communication: Maintain contact with the Director of Community Services, providing regular updates and feedback.

Requirements:

  • Certification of graduation from a school of nursing approved by the Department of Professional Regulation, and a current Illinois license as a Registered Nurse by examination. Preference may be considered for persons qualified as a Public Health Nurse or with a BSN; or
  • Registered Dietitian with proof of current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration; or a non-registered nutritionist / dietitian who has a Baccalaureate or master's degree in nutrition sciences, dietetics, community nutrition or public health nutrition; or a registration-eligible dietitian who has received written approval from the Commission on Dietetic Registration to take the registration examination but has not completed it; or
  • A Baccalaureate or master's degree, and experience in a supervisory role in healthcare.
