Part-Time Charge Nurse

As a Part-Time Charge Nurse at MCSG Technologies, you will provide expert nursing care to OR/surgical patients. You will work closely with the OR/Surgery nurse manager to ensure the highest level of care and service. This role requires a strong background in nursing and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, research, develop, and implement new or modified techniques, methods, practices, and approaches in nursing care.
Act as a consultant in OR/Surgery nursing and be considered an expert in this field.
Provide expert and complex nursing and healthcare to OR/surgical patients.
Instruct nursing and medical staff in OR/Surgery.
Provide nursing service for surgical operations, including those involving complex and extensive surgical procedures.
Confer with surgeons concerning instruments, sutures, prostheses, and special equipment, care for physical and psychological needs of patients.
Assist in the care and handling of supplies and equipment.
Assure accurate care and handling of specimens.
Assume responsibility for aseptic technique maintenance and adequacy of supplies during surgery.
Create work schedules.
Oversee admissions and discharges, mostly on an outpatient basis.
Provide for patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction. Maintain patient environment in a safe and orderly manner.
Function cooperatively as a team member. Respond as directed by responsible nurse to changing patients'/unit's needs. During a patient or environmental emergency, may serve as a runner or transport patients as directed.
Communicate in a professional manner and demonstrate respect for patient, families/significant other, and other healthcare members.
Offer support and feedback to peers and staff. Apply principles of caring and healing in interactions with patients and families and with colleagues.
Offer consistent and visible support to team members.
Comply with all hospital rules, regulations, and nursing standards.
Responsible for honest behavior in all matters. To the best of the employee's knowledge and understanding, comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
Maintain the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Use and disclose only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.
Provide administrative support to nurse manager to include budgeting and procurement.
May be required to work independently on any of the above matters.
Perform related duties as assigned.
