Position Summary:
The primary objective of this role is to deliver compassionate and effective pre-hospital care to individuals experiencing medical emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to both emergency and non-emergency situations, providing timely and appropriate medical assistance to patients.
- Safely navigate to emergency scenes using the most efficient routes while considering traffic and weather conditions.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, developing and implementing initial care plans in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensure the safety of the crew, patients, and bystanders during all operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports for all patient interactions.
- Restock and prepare the ambulance for immediate response.
- Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities to remain current with medical protocols and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Paramedic from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
- Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operators Course within 30 days of hire.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and background checks.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as pushing and pulling weights at specified heights.
- Regular use of hands for medical procedures and equipment operation.
Essential Skills:
- Active listening and effective communication abilities.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of medical protocols and patient care techniques.
Work Environment:
The work environment may involve exposure to various weather conditions and potentially stressful situations. Employees are expected to maintain professionalism and composure in all circumstances.
