Role Mission:
As a vital member of the NGA DEFENDER team, the selected candidate will enhance cybersecurity integration efforts within the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). The Knowledge Manager will leverage Cybersecurity Business Intelligence (CBI) tools to analyze data and produce valuable work products, support the evolution of cybersecurity policies, and facilitate information sharing across the agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer processes and tools that enable the organization to document and access intellectual assets.
  • Develop pathways to information suites to enhance user accessibility.
  • Understand and address the needs of information end-users.
  • Monitor and report on the utilization of knowledge management resources.
  • Plan and oversee the execution of knowledge management initiatives.
  • Provide insights on data structures and databases to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Promote the organization's knowledge management practices and information sharing.
  • Manage the cataloging and access of organizational knowledge.
  • Design and maintain a knowledge management framework for user access to intellectual assets.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing among information owners and users.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Understanding of networking concepts, security methodologies, and risk management processes.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity laws, regulations, and ethical considerations.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, and the implications of security breaches.
  • Experience with content creation and collaborative technologies.
  • Expertise in organizing and managing information technologies.
  • Understanding of cloud-based knowledge management technologies.
  • Application of data classification standards based on sensitivity.
  • Awareness of taxonomy and semantic ontology theory.
  • Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and related security standards.
  • Familiarity with information classification programs and compromise procedures.
  • Understanding of data mining techniques and database theory.
  • Eligibility for TS/SCI clearance, subject to CI Polygraph.
  • IAM Level 2 certification.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in conducting information searches and knowledge mapping.
  • Familiarity with various knowledge management technologies.
  • Ability to identify suitable knowledge repository technologies for specific applications.
  • Capability to assess the security needs of information systems.
