Director - Controller

We're seeking a seasoned professional to join our Global Controllership organization as a Director - Controller. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in shaping the strategic decisions that drive our business forward.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in accounting, reporting, and auditing to drive business growth and excellence. You'll work closely with our leadership team to develop and implement effective financial strategies, ensuring compliance with U.S. regulatory requirements and U.S. GAAP standards.
Responsibilities- Support the design, governance, and establishment of the Regulatory Reporting Interpretive Office
- Collaborate with colleagues across groups to create a forum responsible for issuing interpretive guidance
- Establish well-defined mechanisms to discuss and coalesce around an official firm interpretation of complex regulations
- Track, monitor, and action complex regulatory reporting changes
- Formalize a Change Management framework for both internal and external changes
- Develop policy, governance, and process to monitor and perform applicability and impact assessments, implementation, and validation of regulatory changes
- Accurately interpret and document reporting instructions to ensure reporting requirements and appropriate data elements are captured and adhered to
- Work closely with Subject Matter Experts and Regulatory Reporting leaders in the review and production of regulatory reports
- Assist in formulating responses to inquiries from the Federal Reserve and key internal stakeholders
- Contribute to driving continuous process improvements, increase level of automation, strengthen controls, and enhance process documentation
- 10+ years of experience in Accounting / Reporting / Auditing
- Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated environment
- Strong understanding of U.S. Regulatory and U.S. GAAP requirements
- A self-starter, proactive team player with a passion to consistently deliver high-quality service and exceed customers' expectations
- Ability to lead, coach, develop, and promote talent
- A quick learner with superior problem-solving skills, focused on generating efficiencies and continuous process improvements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive projects, and work well under tight deadlines
- Strong written/oral communication, relationship building, presentation, and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to effectively interact with all levels and stakeholders of an organization, including senior leadership/officers, as well as with external regulators and auditors
