As a Night Auditor, you will take on the dual responsibilities of a Guest Service Representative and Accounting tasks. This role involves overseeing the auditing, posting, and balancing of daily financial transactions, contributing to the hotel's ongoing commitment to exceptional guest service and financial success.

By reconciling daily revenues and expenses, you will ensure accurate billing for guests and proper recording of credit card transactions. Additionally, you will greet, register, and check out guests, all while supporting the hotel's mission to provide outstanding service and maintain financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits, postings, and balance daily cashier activities for the hotel.
  • Ensure all account entries are reconciled; document and resolve any discrepancies found during audits.
  • Confirm that the credit card system aligns with daily transaction records.
  • Verify cash postings and cashier drops for accuracy.
  • Organize and compile daily hotel operations paperwork as directed by management.
  • Welcome all guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Complete guest registration and check-out processes efficiently.
  • Handle telephone inquiries, transferring calls and taking messages as necessary.
  • Assist guests with hotel reservations, including modifications and cancellations.
  • Maintain an accurate cash bank during your shift and utilize appropriate vouchers for transactions.
  • Respond promptly to all guest requests and needs.
  • Follow up to ensure guest requests are met satisfactorily.
  • Possess knowledge of the local area and attractions.
  • File necessary paperwork as instructed.
  • Ensure the front desk is stocked with all required supplies.
  • Understand and implement hotel emergency procedures and evacuation protocols.
  • Collect payments from guests during check-in and check-out, providing change as needed.
  • Keep the Front Office and Lobby areas clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Adhere to all company safety and security policies; report any accidents or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards.
  • Protect confidential information and company assets.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with team members.
  • Prepare breakfast for guests in the morning.
  • Perform all reasonable job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to operate front desk equipment, including computers and credit card machines.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal communication and guest interaction skills.
  • Capability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, ensuring smooth communication across shifts.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
