Job Description

  • Job Responsibilities:

Obstetrics and Women's Health

  • Clinical Proficiency: Possess clinical proficiency within scope of practice, systematically assessing health and status of patients, and applying age-specific standards.
  • Patient Care Planning: Develops and implements patient care plans, including problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions, in collaboration with the patient/family.
  • Education and Coordination: Provides patient/family education, coordinates all aspects of nursing care, and evaluates effectiveness of teaching procedures.
  • Documentation and Quality: Documents nursing care according to hospital policies and approved standards, adhering to Universal Blood and Body Fluid Precautions and Infection Control policies.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Licensure and Certification: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Maine or Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement.
  • Experience and Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with acute care experience preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Effective communication skills, ability to work with others within a team, strong critical thinking skills, good customer service skills, and ability to function independently.
