Responsibilities:
  • Manage acute and chronic pulmonary diseases, practicing at the top of your license
  • Obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and document findings in a timely manner, including prescribing medications and ordering appropriate tests/procedures
  • Attend and participate in group/practice meetings, contribute to policy development, and engage in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
  • Nurse practitioners require an acute care master's degree or doctorate in nursing practice, with certification as an ACNP from a nationally recognized certifying body
  • Physician Assistants require certification from the National Commission on Certification of PAs
  • 1-2 years of APP experience preferred, with post-graduate Pulmonary Medicine fellowship and/or Pulmonary Medicine experience a plus
  • North Carolina license, North Carolina DEA, BLS, and ACLS required
