Role Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Memory Care Activities Coordinator to enhance the lives of our residents within our vibrant community. This role involves collaborating with the Resident Lifestyle Director to design and implement a diverse range of enriching activities tailored for our residents in the Memory Care Neighborhood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster connections with residents through individual and group interactions.
  • Organize and lead various activities, including games, exercise sessions, arts and crafts, and special events.
  • Coordinate outings and social events to promote engagement and enjoyment.
  • Assist in the creation of the monthly newsletter in partnership with the Resident Lifestyle Director.
  • Support the planning and execution of the monthly activity calendar.
  • Monitor resident participation and attendance at events.
  • Communicate with families regarding resident involvement through the Caremerge portal.
  • Adhere to all operational policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training and development initiatives for team members.
  • Contribute to collaborative efforts in enhancing resident engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude and a genuine passion for working with seniors.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification as a Dementia Practitioner and familiarity with the Montessori Method is advantageous.
  • 1-2 years of experience in activities programming or Memory Care preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage group activities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on patience and empathy.
  • Ability to work independently while following established plans.
  • Maintain professionalism in challenging situations, treating residents with dignity and respect.
  • Experience in Independent Living, Assisted Living, or Senior Living environments is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
