Position Summary

As a Senior Geosynthetics Quality Assurance Inspector at Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE), you will be instrumental in ensuring that geosynthetic materials are installed according to industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. Under the supervision of a registered professional engineer, you will collaborate with site managers, general contractors, and engineers to conduct inspections, monitor contractor activities, and oversee onsite testing related to earthwork, soil construction, and geosynthetic installations across various job sites in the Southeastern United States.

Your responsibilities will include collecting samples of concrete, soil, and other materials for testing to ensure compliance with construction standards and specifications.


Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Thoroughly observe and document the installation process on-site, ensuring the quality, strength, and integrity of geosynthetic materials, including tension tests, seam integrity assessments, and geomembrane leak detection tests, in line with company and project specifications.
  • Meticulously monitor all phases of geosynthetic installation, documenting the preparation of subgrade, placement of materials, test results, corrective actions, seam welding, and comprehensive inspection reports for project documentation.
  • Engage in pre-construction meetings to provide insights on best practices, standards, and quality control measures for geosynthetics installation.
  • Offer training and guidance to the CQA team on proper installation techniques and quality standards.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies related to geosynthetics installation and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with third-party testing laboratories and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and reliable testing of geosynthetic materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in solid waste or geosynthetic disciplines.
  • Progressive experience in observing and administering construction related to liner installation and soil testing.
  • Experience in managing client relations.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities, along with excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for conveying inspection findings and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.

Work Environment

  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, sleet, and high winds).
  • Travel to and from construction job sites across the Southeast (100% travel required).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in muddy and dirty conditions.
