The Commons Chelsea is a charming neighborhood café that has been serving the community since its inception. We are currently seeking a skilled barista to enhance our coffee service. This role starts part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, with the potential for increased hours as the season progresses.

- Extensive knowledge of coffee and the ability to craft a variety of espresso beverages effortlessly.
- A genuine enthusiasm for coffee and the food service industry.
- Exceptional organizational skills, cleanliness, and punctuality.
- A friendly demeanor with a knack for engaging in conversation with patrons.
- A love for music.
- Patience and a desire to learn while contributing positively to the team.
- Flexibility to work weekends as required.
Qualifications & Duties:
- A minimum of one year of experience as a barista in a dynamic environment.
- Expertise in latte art and comprehensive knowledge of espresso beverages.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn our point-of-sale system.
- A warm and approachable attitude.
We pride ourselves on serving exceptional coffee and delicious food without pretension.
- Willingness to take on responsibilities both as a barista and as a counter staff member, including answering calls, taking orders, and expediting food.
- A food handler's certificate is advantageous but not mandatory.
Tips are shared among staff based on hours worked, with an hourly rate, including tips, ranging from $26 to $30 depending on the day.
