Job Overview

Sigma Engineers and Constructors is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Stress Analysis Specialist. This role will involve performing pipe stress analysis and other engineering calculations to ensure quality client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pipe stress calculations using Bentley AutoPIPE.
  • Execute pressure vessel calculations using PRG NozzlePRO and PV Elite.
  • Perform miscellaneous Mechanical calculations to analyze various piping components.
  • Contact vendors to obtain budgetary and/or firm pricing for specialty supports and piping components.
  • Apply P.E. Seal to piping construction work packages and calculation packages.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines during multi-discipline efforts.
  • Attend internal and client project meetings as required.
  • Communicate with client SMEs when necessary.
  • Provide input on project schedules.
  • Perform other Mechanical related tasks as directed by the Mechanical Department Manager.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • P.E., licensure in the state of Louisiana is preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of industrial consulting engineering experience is required.
  • Proficient in the use of pipe stress analysis software (Bentley AutoPIPE preferred).
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and standards, the most prevalent being the API and ASME collections.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to obtain licensure in states outside of Louisiana.
