Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Systems Engineer to join our team at Coastal Ecology Group, LLC. As a key member of our transportation services team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative transportation systems that connect communities and promote sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct transportation project work, including traffic operations and safety, roadway design, bridge design, transportation planning, and environmental analysis.
  • Manage the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications for major and minor projects.
  • Supervise and observe the design and ongoing progress of projects, including coordination with city, state, and county officials and other outside agencies.
  • Supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to projects.
  • Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff.
  • Communicate and interact with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to project.
  • Resolve complex problems, such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the transportation industry, preferably in Tennessee.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification is required.
  • DOT project experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of software systems, including HCS, SYNCHRO, SIDRA, CORSIM, VISSIM, CUBE, TransCAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Office.
