Medical Billing Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team at Premier Plastic Surgery Partners LLC. As a Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of insurance claims and patient billing, as well as overseeing daily financial activities such as posting charges, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, with specific experience in plastic surgery or dermatology preferred. You will be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and eligibility for procedures and services, accurately coding and submitting insurance claims, and monitoring claim status and following up on unpaid or denied claims.
In this role, you will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries, payment options, and financial assistance programs. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily financial activities, including posting charges, processing payments, and reconciling accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for procedures and services, ensuring accurate documentation for claims submission.
- Achieve high accuracy rates in coding and claim submission, adhering to CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims, conducting appeals as necessary to maximize reimbursement.
- Process patient payments, including co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances, and maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Collaborate with other members of the administrative team to ensure efficient billing processes and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, preferably Nextech.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and insurance providers.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and office software.
- Proven time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated initiative (self-starter).
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is between $60,000-$80,000, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
