Key Responsibilities

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating sanitation activities to ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols. This role includes:

  • Overseeing adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related to sanitation.
  • Monitoring and auditing cleaning procedures for processing and packaging equipment, suggesting improvements as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with company and regulatory sanitation standards, as well as employee safety protocols.
  • Collaborating with management and production teams to address sanitation challenges and enhance policies and procedures.
  • Conducting thorough sanitation audits to evaluate effectiveness and reporting findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Implementing training programs for sanitation staff and ensuring their development in alignment with production needs.
  • Understanding and applying chemical specifications for effective sanitation processes.
  • Participating in the commissioning of new equipment and monitoring sanitation validation processes.
  • Maintaining and updating sanitation documentation for quality assurance and regulatory purposes.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings in chemical usage and improving cleaning efficiency.
  • Fostering positive relationships with production, quality, and human resources teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Promoting a positive work environment and adhering to safety practices.
Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in leading sanitation teams within the food and beverage sector, particularly in the dairy industry.
  • Specialized knowledge in sanitation processes, including cleaning in place and cleaning out of place.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and quality enhancement.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting and communication.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis.
  • A dedication to promoting safety and following up with chemical suppliers.
