Job Overview

As a Logistics Operations Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate daily and weekly operations within your designated area. Your role will involve:

  • Providing leadership and motivation to your team, fostering a culture of training and development.
  • Ensuring compliance with customer and site requirements while promoting a positive work environment.
  • Managing inbound and outbound freight movements, including shuttle services for customer orders and inventory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise logistics coordinators and planners to meet objectives related to customer shipments, including load planning and appointment scheduling.
  • Facilitate effective communication between internal teams and external customers to ensure consistency.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and clean work environment for all associates.
  • Conduct associate training, performance evaluations, and development initiatives.
  • Ensure that associates have access to the necessary tools and that these tools are regularly maintained.

Operational Excellence

Your focus will be on enhancing productivity by:

  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and sharing best practices.
  • Identifying opportunities that improve financial performance and service levels.
  • Planning and managing daily workloads to minimize unplanned overtime.

Communication and Coordination

Effective communication is crucial. You will:

  • Clearly convey Standard Operating Procedures and key information during team meetings.
  • Engage professionally with external customers and vendors, ensuring timely issue resolution.
  • Monitor and execute customer and vendor contract requirements, maintaining necessary documentation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • A strong operations background.
  • 2+ years of experience in the logistics or transportation industry.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role (preferred).
