About the Program

Our Nurse Residency Program is a comprehensive, 12-month program designed to provide new graduate nurses with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in today's fast-paced healthcare environment. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and mentorship, you'll gain the expertise and experience you need to become a skilled and compassionate nurse.

What to Expect

As a participant in our Nurse Residency Program, you can expect to:

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s)
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner
  • Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and striving to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects, and follow-up measures
Qualifications

To be eligible for our Nurse Residency Program, you must:

  • Hold a current RN license in the state of Virginia
  • Have a degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • Be willing to commit to a 12-month residency program
