Job Overview:

The Custodial Worker III plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order within various facilities. This position involves both independent work and collaboration with a small team to ensure high standards of hygiene and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and execute assignments from the Custodial Supervisor, working independently or in a team setting.
  • Monitor and guide the work of fellow custodial staff while actively participating in cleaning tasks.
  • Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Custodial Supervisor.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance duties across multiple areas, including hallways, offices, classrooms, and recreational spaces.
  • Conduct floor maintenance activities such as vacuuming, shampooing, and waxing to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of both interior and exterior glass surfaces.
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, trash bins, and recycling containers.
  • Operate a University vehicle, requiring a valid Class 'E' Driver's License.
  • Work schedule typically runs from 5 PM to 1 AM, Monday through Friday.
  • Designated as Essential Personnel in accordance with University policies.
  • Complete a criminal background check and a post-offer health assessment as part of the hiring process.

Compensation:

Hourly wage based on experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of ninth grade along with two years of relevant custodial experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a high school diploma and two years of experience in custodial services.
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques and commercial cleaning practices.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills and the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Physical capability to lift various weights and operate cleaning machinery.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision following initial training.
